Barbara Guidetti

Contemporary Painter, Switzerland

Barbara Guidetti

A graduate of HEAD – Geneva, Barbara Guidetti exhibited in Switzerland and France in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. She then embarked on an extended journey across Africa, Asia, and Europe, an experience that profoundly shaped her artistic path.

Her practice lies at the intersection of art and inner exploration. Informed by philosophy, Jungian psychology, and meditative traditions, she develops a performative approach to painting that is free, intuitive, and rooted in the lineage of Abstract Expressionism.

Her work unfolds as a ritual act, where gesture and material translate a process of transformation. Her paintings, akin to palimpsests, reveal layers of rhythm and tension, engaging both body and consciousness in the act of painting.

Her works are held in private collections.
